The basics
What is Marcel?
Marcel is an 8.66″ magnetic art board with 50 colorful geometric tiles. Arrange them into letters, patterns, abstractions, and Bauhaus-style compositions — then rearrange them whenever the mood strikes. Part art piece, part game, part fidget, part thinking tool.
What can I make with it?
Whatever you like. The tiles are a small vocabulary of geometric shapes in a full palette of color. People build words, color studies, repeating patterns, and bold abstractions. There's no single right way to use it, and we're adding games and prompts over time.
Is it art, a game, or a fidget?
All of the above, depending on who's holding it. It hangs on a wall like art, rearranges like a game, and keeps restless hands busy like a fidget.
Who is it for?
Adults and older kids who like objects with a rule set — people who arrange things, and people who just like to look. It's at home in a studio, on a desk, or on a wall.
The object
How big is it?
The board is 8.66″ square, with an 8″ tile field on a 10×10 grid. Fifty tiles fill it.
What's included?
The board with its embedded magnet grid, and 50 tiles in six shapes. That's everything — no tools needed.
What's it made of?
PLA throughout — board and tiles — with strong magnets fully embedded in both. Designed and made in Michigan.
How do the tiles stay on?
Strong magnets are set into both the grid and the tiles, so they hold firm whether the board is on the wall or flat on a table. They stay put until you move them, and move easily when you want them to.
Can I hang it on the wall?
Yes. The magnets hold a full composition vertical, and you can switch between wall and table without tools.
Are the colors going to fade?
The finishes hold their color in normal indoor light. As with anything, we'd avoid prolonged direct sunlight.
Safety & care
Is it safe for kids?
Marcel contains strong magnets, fully embedded — none exposed or separable without breaking a tile or the board. It is not a toy for young children. Keep it away from children under 3, supervise older kids, and seek medical attention immediately if any magnet is swallowed (swallowed magnets can cause serious internal injury).
How do I clean it?
Wipe with a soft, barely-damp cloth and mild soap. Not dishwasher safe — PLA softens with heat, so keep it out of dishwashers, hot cars, and long stretches of direct summer sun.
Anything I should keep it away from?
Keep the strong magnets away from credit cards, hard drives, pacemakers, and other electronics or magnetic media.
Ordering, shipping & returns
How much is it?
Marcel is $89 USD.
Are there other colorways?
Two right now — Fitz and McGraw, each in ten colors — with more on the way.
When will my order ship?
Each Marcel is made to order in a small run. Orders ship in about a week. We'll email you tracking as soon as it's on its way.
Where do you ship?
Everywhere. Domestic and international both welcome. Shipping is calculated at checkout; for international orders, any duties, taxes, or customs fees are the customer's responsibility.
What's your return policy?
Undamaged items can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, in original condition. If anything arrives damaged or defective, email us within 14 days and we'll make it right with a replacement or full refund.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Yes — email us before your board enters production and we'll cancel or adjust it, no problem.
About many many
Who makes Marcel?
many many is a small studio run by Eric Daigh, who came up making portraits and mosaics out of thousands of tiny individual parts. Marcel is that idea you can hold — many small pieces, endlessly rearrangeable. Everything is designed and made in Michigan.
Why "many many"?
The name is about multiplicity — the many tiles in a single board, the many ways to arrange them, the many things a few simple parts can become.
